Jon is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator.
Before launching Jon Johnson Mediations, LLC in 2024, Jon was a General Magistrate with the domestic and juvenile dependency divisions of the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit, Tampa, Florida since 2001. Prior to that, Jon was an Assistant Attorney General with Florida's Office of Attorney General and served as statewide appellate counsel for the Florida Department of Revenue, Child Support Enforcement Division.
Jon earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Stetson University College of Law in 1992. He became Board Certified in Appellate Practice by The Florida Bar in 2002.
Promoting excellence in the legal profession is among Jon's passions. Jon was a member of the Florida Supreme Court Steering Committee for Families and Children in the Courts from 2004 - 2018. He has taught other magistrates and judges as faculty of the Florida College of Advanced Judicial Studies. Jon is also a long time active member of the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar and served on its Executive Council.
